So-Yon Sohn is Managing Director, and Citi Markets & Securities Services Global Head of Third Party Retail Distribution. In this capacity, she is responsible for formulating and executing a comprehensive global retail distribution strategy. This includes refining and delivering superior products and services through Citi’s global platform, and mapping and managing an optimal sales coverage across the retail client segments.
Prior to her current role, So-Yon was the Asia Investment Centre Head for Citi Private Bank (CPB) and Citi’s Global Consumer Bank (GCB) since 2013. In that role, So-Yon managed all of CPB’s Investment business in Asia, including Capital Markets, Managed Investments, Product Management and Strategy; and also managed GCB’s Capital Market businesses including FX and FX Options Trading, Structured Products, and Fixed Income. She also managed the GCB’s third party fund distribution team.
Previously, So-Yon was Markets & Securities Services Head of Asia-Pacific Credit and Fixed Income Sales in Hong Kong. In this position, she was responsible for the distribution of all Flow Credit products in Asia (ex-Japan), including cash, derivatives and flow structured products. Previously, So-Yon was Head of Asia-Pacific Credit Sector Specialists, and was voted #1 Asian bank fixed income analyst by Finance Asia and The Asset for 5 consecutive years. So-Yon is based in Hong Kong, and joined Citi in 1994.
Prior to joining Citi, So-Yon worked as an investment analyst with the International Finance Corporation, The World Bank Group, in Washington D.C. So-Yon received a BA degree in Economics from Georgetown University. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts.
